Our Mission
The Esther and Harold Mertz Foundation is committed to providing support to qualified organizations that focus on true charity. We describe charity as the highest form of love; the unselfish love of one’s fellow man. Our mission is to show kindness and compassion toward those in need of aid in a manner which will provide hope, restore their independence and bring happiness and gratitude into their lives.
Let’s not get tired of doing good, because in time we’ll have a harvest if we don’t give up. So then, let’s work for the good of all whenever we have an opportunity, and especially for those in the household of faith.
Our Vision
The Foundation’s vision is to use our resources to make measurable and quantifiable improvements in people’s lives by donating to qualified organizations who share a common mission and philosophy. Our desire and aim is to serve all people regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity, with the primary goal of providing hope where little exists, giving aid to those less fortunate and most vulnerable, offering opportunity where there is currently none, and transforming the lives of our ultimate recipients.
As we begin our endeavors to share the benevolence of Esther and Harold Mertz, we hope to reduce the number of people who go to bed hungry; to provide medical services to those who cannot afford to pay for them; to give, especially to children and youth, opportunities to education and recreation they would normally not have; and to share our tenets of faith with those who choose and want to listen.
Where there is no vision, the people perish.
